Three Places on the Road to Tenure and Promotion: Experiences and Thoughts of CUNY Library Faculty
Thursday, December 13, 2012
3:00-5:00pm
Graduate Center Library, 18th-Century Reading Room, located in room C196.05 on the Lower Level
Join us for three presentations of pre-tenured library faculty who will talk about their experiences from within the tenure and promotion process. We will also have further discussion about scholarship and librarianship at CUNY.
Speakers:
Ann Matsuuchi, LaGuardia Community College. Prof. Matsuuchi will talk about moving from being an Instructor to an Assistant Professor, and about both her committee work and publications that are not library-related.
Helen Georgas, Brooklyn College. Prof. Georgas will talk about her experiences with the third year review as well as her scholarly work.
Maura Smale, NYC College of Technology. Prof. Smale will talk about the process of promotion (before tenure) and also her scholarship and publication schedule (how she manages to publish one article per year!).
Best,
Alycia Sellie and Helen Georgas
