    Mission

    The mission of the Acquisitions Roundtable is to discuss various topics of concern to CUNY Acquisitions librarians and support staff, such as procedures, policy, technology, vendor relations, cooperation, and financial issues. Information and current practices are shared, as well as new developments in librarianship of particular concern to Acquisitions librarians and their colleagues.

  • Cataloging Roundtable

    Mission

    LACUNY’s Cataloging Roundtable meets once per semester in order to keep its members up-to-date on cataloging issues. Through workshops and presentations, members share their best practices and innovations, learn about cataloging procedures and standards, and work collaboratively to solve cataloging concerns that arise.

  • International Relations

    Mission

    Library Association of City University of New York (LACUNY) International Relations Round Table (IRRT)'s objective is to provide a framework for information sharing among librarians and library staff interested in international librarianship activities at all CUNY libraries and other academic libraries. The LACUNY IRRT aims to increase communication among LACUNY members about international visits, exchanges and programs in which LACUNY members are involved. To increase the general awareness of contributions made by LACUNY librarians at the international level, IRRT will sponsor programs once a year.

  • Junior Faculty Research Roundtable

    Mission

    The Junior Faculty Research Roundtable is a forum for untenured CUNY library faculty to discuss their research ideas, concerns, and experiences. The roundtable will hold regular meetings, maintain its own email list, and encourage exchange among colleagues with similar interests and/or complementary skills. Membership is open to all untenured CUNY library faculty.

  • Multicultural and Diversity Roundtable

    Mission

    Multicultural is broadly defined to include ethnicity, race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, and ability. The purpose of this Roundtable is to enable libraries, library faculty and staff to reach out to diverse populations and

    • Enhance knowledge to work effectively with diverse populations through programs, workshops, and discussion forums
    • Increase library resources and services to diverse communities within CUNY
    • Promote recruitment and retention of underrepresented diverse populations into the library profession

  • Reference Roundtable

    Mission

    LACUNY's Reference Roundtable meets each semester to share and develop ideas to facilitate improved reference services in CUNY libraries.
    This is accomplished through:

    • Member presentations on service innovations, challenges, and best practices
    • Sharing of relevant literature on reference services
    • Creation and distribution of relevant documents and policy statements
    • Guest presentations
    • Discussion of management issues related to reference services

    Membership is open to all CUNY library faculty involved in reference services.

  • Reserves Roundtable

    Mission

    The mission of the Reserves Roundtable is to discuss topics of concern to CUNY Reserves librarians and support staff, such as current practices and procedures, staffing, policy, technology, copyright compliance and the impact of the above on students, faculty, library staff and the colleges in general. This is accomplished through the creation and distribution of relevant documents, policy statements and literature and a once per semester meeting where members share and develop ideas to facilitate improved Reserves functions in CUNY libraries.

  • Web Management Roundtable

    Mission

    The mission of the Web Management Roundtable is to share best practices, expose members to emerging trends and technologies, and to otherwise support members' professional growth as web managers and developers.

    The Roundtable supports the mission with:

    • Face-to-face meetings and presentations on technologies, techniques, and best practices that can be applied to library and archival websites;
    • Virtual interactions where members can reach out to each other with challenges and solutions.
    • Maintenance and management of the LACUNY Web site, which will be used both as an information source for LACUNY members and as a hands-on learning tool for the Web Management Roundtable.
